Leon H. Fox, Jr. passed away on January 22, 2018.
Leon had substantial experience in the areas of family law, including divorce, support, custody, visitation, distribution of property, protection from abuse, marital agreements, adoptions, alimony and name changes; personal injury, including death claims and serious injuries, auto accidents, slip and fall injuries, medical/dental malpractice, work related injuries, dog bites and motorcycle accidents; probate and estate planning. An accomplished attorney with extensive trial experience, Leon had successfully tried cases in Courts at all levels: County, State and Federal and is actively engaged in litigating family law matters.
Leon had resided in Montgomery County all of his life and been active in many community affairs such as the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, Optimist Club, and many charitable lodges and served as President of B’Nai Brith Lodge. Leon had also been a solicitor of several Civic Associations in the area. He had been Lafayette College Class Correspondent for the years and an active participant in Lafayette College alumni activities. Leon had coached Little League baseball and Biddy basketball and had participated for many years in the Montgomery County Senior Games and the Pennsylvania Senior Games in many events involving basketball and has won numerous gold and silver medals. Leon participated in pitching in the annual Montgomery Bar Association softball game, as well as played tennis and shooting “hoops” with his grandchildren. His family vacations were highlighted by trips to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four Tournaments for thirty plus years.
Leon and his wife, Lois, are the parents of Marlene Goldwein, M.D.; Craig H. Fox, Esquire and Jeffrey M. Fox. They have been actively involved both academically and athletically in the lives of their seven grandchildren who range in age from five years to thirty years.
Leon was honored by the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania and by the Montgomery Bar Association in recognition of his 50th year of admission to the Bar and in appreciation of the faithful and continuance devotion to the Montgomery Bar Association and the Courts of Montgomery County.
Leon was a member of the Bar of Pennsylvania since January 1957 and was admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania
PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS AND MEMBERSHIPS
Leon graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lafayette College in 1953 and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa Society, the nation’s oldest academic society. He received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 1956 where he was elected to the University of Pennsylvania Law Review.
